Hi, I'm Seldovia!

We’ve been posting this little otter pup at Shedd Aquarium off and on for months, and he finally has a name! Shedd Aquarium writes:

The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here! We are proud and excited to announce that the otter pup has officially been named Seldovia, thanks to a partnership with the Seldovia Village Tribe!

The name, chosen by the children of Seldovia, Alaska, reflects their connection and appreciation for nature, representing where the pup was found and serving as a lifelong reminder of his story and connection to his native range.

Seldovia, now nearly six months old, is interactive with the Animal Care team, learning behaviors like diving, foraging and grooming. He has met several other rescued otters, spending the most time with Luna and Watson and starting introductions with Suri and Willow.
