Sea Otter Porpoises Her Way to Jumping for the Ball
Via Seattle Aquarium, which writes:
Sekiu (pronounced SEE-cue), a sea otter at the Seattle Aquarium, having fun playing with an enrichment item provided by her care team. The hanging ball provided a great opportunity for Sekiu to leap from the water and show off her amazing agility. Sea otters will use this "porpoising " behavior not for play but as a way to dive under the water when searching for food. In the wild sea otters might also use this as a way to quickly get away from and avoid a predator.
