Monterey Bay Aquarium Rescues and Rehabs Shark-Bitten Pup 808
Otter 808 is the latest sea otter to be rescued by our Sea Otter Program. Orphaned from a shark bite, he's recovering under the watchful eye of Dr. Mike and his team. He'll hopefully be released to the wild after learning the ropes from one of our resident female otters.
Meet Pup 808, Monterey Bay Aquarium's most recently rescued sea otter pup! Orphaned 808 was found with shark bites and taken to Monterey Bay Aquarium, where he is being treated for his injuries. When he's ready, the aquarium will pair him with a surrogate mother who will teach him all things otter, in the hopes he can be released back to the wild.
