Videos: Sea Otter Mother Holds and Grooms Her Newborn Pup
Happy Mother's Day today to all you moms out there! When I was planning today's post I wanted to feature a sea otter mother and pup, and immediately thought of the otter pups born in Monterey Bay Aquarium's Great Tide Pool. Here's a collection of videos of the wild sea otter mother who gave birth at the pool in December 2015, and her one day-old pup!
This is a collection of short videos that I shot on December 21, 2015, a day after the mother sea otter gave birth to her baby. The mother is a wild Californian sea otter that swam into the the "Great Tide Pool" area of the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California.
(For licensing or usage, contact licensing@viralhog.com) This baby sea otter was born in the "Great Tide Pool" at the Monterey Bay Aquarium on 12/20/15. Her mom is a wild, Californian sea otter that sought refuge in the pool to shield her against other animals and the stormy days.
This newborn California sea otter (one day old) didn't appreciate the grooming that its mother was giving it in the "Great Tide Pool" at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. She gave birth in the protected area because of the stormy weather. Copyright - Connie Lee Photo Art
